Austin Board of REALTORS® Foundation awards scholarships to Central Texas students
12 students receive a combined $29,000 in scholarships
AUSTIN, Texas—Today, the Austin Board of REALTORS® Foundation awarded 12 local high school seniors and college students a combined $29,000 in higher education scholarships based on academic merit, leadership and service, and financial need. This includes $2,500 scholarships to 10 high school seniors and two, $2,000 alumni scholarships to previous ABoR Foundation scholarship recipients.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to work alongside an organization that champions the futures of Central Texas students,”Robert Higgs, 2025 ABoR Foundation chair, said. “The scholarship recipients have demonstrated exceptional dedication and perseverance, wholeheartedly earning this recognition. With the support and generosity of Central Texas REALTORS®, the ABoR Foundation is able to make higher education more accessible to students, giving them the opportunity to build brighter futures.”
The ABoR Foundation has awarded more than 500 scholarships since 1978, totaling over $575,000 in the last nine years alone. Recipients must reside within ABoR’s 18-county Central Texas service area and have committed to a Texas university, college or trade school to receive the scholarship.
Funding for the ABoR Foundation Scholarship Program is made possible by the support of more than 18,000 Central Texas REALTORS® and real estate professionals.
“As someone who was born and raised in Austin, currently serving as ABoR and Unlock MLS’s president, I feel a deep responsibility to give back to the community that has shaped who I am,” Brandy Wuensch, 2025 Unlock MLS and ABoR president, said. “Our roles as professional agents go far beyond helping people buy and sell homes. We’re also committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders right here in Central Texas. We’re deeply grateful for the dedicated members who contributed to the application process and the generous donors who helped turn students' dreams into a reality.”
