Code of Ethics

This course provides REALTORS® with a practical understanding of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, including its history, structure, enforcement, and real-world application. Students explore how the Code evolved to promote professionalism, protect consumers, and establish higher standards within the real estate industry. Through discussions of arbitration, procuring cause, Pathways to Professionalism, and case studies tied to specific Articles, the class connects ethical principles to everyday business decisions and client interactions. The course also emphasizes how professionalism, communication, and ethical conduct help REALTORS® build trust, reduce risk, and strengthen their reputation in the marketplace. By the end of the class, participants will better understand how the Code serves not only as a set of rules, but as a foundation for long-term success and credibility in real estate.
